Answers
QUESTION: Do you make glass doors?
While we can add a glass accent (see Door Gallery "Aspen in the Moonlight"), we feature and excel in carving. We can add sidelights or transoms to your project. Your builder can also add these for you, using glass panels that match the rest of your windows. Talk to your builder and architect to make the best choice. If you want us to build them, call for an estimate.

QUESTION: Will you stain the doors to match my home?
Tom chooses a wood that will complement your home. He matches the grain patterns by carefully choosing the boards and using 'bookmatch' technics. He uses the natural lights & darks, and color variations in the wood to enhance the artistic statement. The doors show the natural wood to its best advantage without stain.

QUESTION: How soon can you make my door?
We recommend you call us when you are getting ready to break ground to be sure the door will be done when the builder needs it. Right now we are able to begin our next project in the spring of 2008. The finish date will depend on the scope of your project. Please call soon if you are interested in securing a spot in Tom's schedule.

QUESTION: Do you have a catalog?
Since your door will be designed just for you, we do not have a catalog. No two doors are ever alike. Visit the "Door Gallery" on this site to get inspiration for your door. We also have a drawing for a new idea in "Choose a Subject" that could be used to build your door.

QUESTION: What kind of maintenance does my door need?
Check your door twice a year and if the glossy finish looks 'dry', it will need re-coating with a high quality spar varnish. Follow the directions on the can of the product you choose. If your door is under a covered porch and out of direct sunlight you may go years between maintenance. Our door is in a high desert environment, uncovered, with the Colorado sun beating on it all day long and we need to revarnish each summer. It is the sun that takes the most toll on the finish. It is important to maintain the finish so that moisture stays away from the wood. You have made an investment in your door and you want to protect it.
